Iron Heaven

For the past miserable decade she was forced to watch world turn into crimson red hell. She was disgusted of her abomination of existence yet she could not end it. She could not end her own monstrosity, this torn and lost creature she had become. Enslaved by every last drop of iron tasting heaven. Everything she touched felt dead, but it was really her. She was dead. Trapped in her own memories of what she once had slowly driving her insane. Dead bodies piling up was closest to feeling alive. She found them most alive before fading away into nothingness. That was until she heard shadows whisper of the cure hidden away. If she had to read every book from cover to cover...time was on her side. It has to be here.

This piece was written for week #11 of Fox Tales - one paragraph story inspired by art contest hosted by @vermillionfox If you don’t follow her already, please do! She is amazing artist and Steemian!

Song: The Birthday Massacre - Superstition

Seems like wonderful challange. And your story, although very dark, is written wonderfully. Enjoyed it very much! :)

Thank you so much @lostinhappiness! ♡

Yeah, I was aiming for very dark. Vampires for me always have been way darker than the sparkly ones these days. Hehe

Your story reminds me of "I Am Legend". : )

Cheers! : )

Thank you for your support @lifenbeauty Had never seen this one before. Thanks. ^^ I will watch it.

This short story is really well written and inspiring. Made me imagine so much backstory and sidestory on my own. And that's a great feeling to have when reading! :)

Scientist vampire? Hell yeah! Imagine the advances in science it could bring if scientists lived a bit longer to share their insights with the new generation?

Yes! Somehow vermillionfox art just automatically pulled me in this idea. That would be cool if vampires would use their eternity for doing good not just killing. People would give them blood willingly. That would actually make for interesting story not just one paragraph. ^^

This was a great read! And I really loved the song - I hadn't listened to The Birthday Massacre before, but I seems that's what I'll be listening to for a while now ;) I generally go for much heavier stuff, but it seems you've helped me discover them at just the right time for me to be able to appreciate them.

Hello @ m31, I'm new in steemit, between searching and searching for good and nourishing content I stumbled upon yours. I got frozen in the post "Hunder for progress", it was like describing my day, my life and my thoughts (with excellent spelling and literary coherence, something I do not have) all of your posts that I have been able to read are incredible; you have a good eye @javgreen new follower and fan.
