Which is the best Battle Royale game? Fortnite Battle Royale or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds? Is Fortnite: Battle Royale a clone or the latest game in a new genre?

Last year Epic Games announced the PUBG-inspired, battle royale variant of Fortnite – its long-in-development sandbox survival game, and released for free on consoles and PC. As of January 2018, PUBG still has a lot more players than Fortnite, but PUBG has hit its all-time peak and the player base is now dropping, while Fortnite is still gaining more active players every day. This is probably due to the fact that Fortnite is newer and PUBG players are migrating to Fortnite like many popular streamers already did.

So which Battle Royale game should you play?
Because we all know, that you are not some lamer or Noob. There are obvious differences between the graphics of PUBG and Fortnite. PUBG looks more realistic while Fortnite has a more cartoonish look. But PUBG is much less unoptimized than Fortnite is. Therefore, if you have trouble running PUBG, you’ll probably find your luck with Fortnite: Battle Royale as it runs better overall.

As for gameplay – both games allow you to play solo, duo or squads and the goal of both the games is the same: be the last man or team standing and win. Both games have a toxic circular gas that you always need to stay inside of or else you’ll lose HP rapidly. Fortnite games are, on average, shorter than PUBG games due to the map size and circle timings. Fortnite is also difference from PUBG because you can actually build in Fortnite Battle Royale. Yes, you can destroy trees, houses, walls and everything in between and get resources that you can use to build protective walls, trap houses or build your way all the way to the sky! It’s pretty unique and definitely makes the game more compelling. Also, Fortnite is faster, because the map size is smaller.

In conclusion, If you like a casual game where you can build and break stuff, you should go with Epic Games’ Fortnite. If you like a more realistic game with longer rounds, you should play Bluehole’s PUBG.
