Get to know Renault's new top-notch rider in the upcoming 2018 Formula One season. The hopes of the French drivers with the new RS18 are very high. This is the third chassis of Renault's return as a factory team and they are all impatient and believe it's time for the big break.
According to the people responsible for the project, the RS18 is a projection and continuation of the conceptual ideas of designers and engineers who have been tested on the old car last year. Innovation is also in the suspension system as well as in the way aerodynamic pressures are increased. The first visual change is the integrated hail security system and a modified engine hatch after the rules banned the "shark tail".
The new 1.6-liter turbo V6 engine is ready in its latest version after a long winter standby test. It is expected with increased power and improved efficiency by Renault to get the most out of the champions. No less important task was to improve reliability, since in 2018 every car would be entitled to only three engines before the penalties began.
