RE: Many uses of Japanese Knotweed

in #foraging7 years ago

english version below

Thank you, these are important information to share. This plant, the Japanese knotweed, is indeed very invasive. It makes a lot of competition to native plants in North America. The more people know that it is invasive and can be eaten, the more it can be kept under control.

Haha, yeah, eating the invasive species is actually a good strategy. This way common people help keep their numbers in check, so keeping the population under control is a lot easier than if only the government or property owners need to do it themselves :)

Yes, absolutly!!! Because we eat them when they come out of the ground in the spring, it weakens the plant. A fun and gourmet way to fight the invader!

the karankawa thought so also.

Thank you @nature.sauvage! Yes I was intrigued by how many uses and benefits it has. Its also very use full for treating lymes disease.
