RE: Liverpool have no chance of winning the Premier League

in #football5 years ago

From what I understand, De Bruyne has looked very good in pre-season and is why he should be in everyone's fantasy team at the very reasonable price of 9.5million. Up until his injury he was the most complete midfielder in the league

I think there are several reasons Salah struggled last year and a couple are related to the above. Firstly fatigue, again he played a lot of football in 2017/18 both in the EPL and with Liverpool going to the CL final. He was then injured in that final but still went to the World Cup with Eygpt only half fit. It just seemed like he lacked a bit of sharpness last year.

Secondly, I think Liverpool sometimes lack a plan B against sides that just drop deep and defend their penalty area. Salah and the whole Liverpool front line is lethal if you give them space in behind or allow them to win the ball in midfield and transistion quickly into attack. It's a bit different when they've got 8 or 9 bodies to play through and I think that's another reason why they'd be wise to invest in a creative midfielder that could pick out those key passes for the likes of Mane and Salah
