Lee Grant pens a two-year deal with Manchester United.

The 35-year old put pen on a two-year deal which will most likely allow young goalkeeper, Joel Perreira move out on loan with Jose Mourinho referring to the Portuguese as the best young goalkeeper of his generation.

Perreira saw just 12 minutes of senior football action last campaig, coming on as a substitute in a League Cup match against Burton Albion.

Grant has been impressive for Stoke City, one that easily come so mind was the impressive outing against United in October 2016 which made Mourinho full of praise for him.

He however fell in the pecking order to Jack Butland in the 2017/2018 season making just three League appearances after Paul Lambert took over from Mark Hughes in a campaign that saw the potters Relegated to the championship after ten years.

He is expected to serve as backup for David de Gea and Sergio Romero.

Sort:

Why do we need three goalkeepers ? Or do they want to sell David de Gea ?

Lol
Doesn't seem likely but you never can tell, anything is possible in football.

However, I feel he's a good backup plan. Injuries are inevitable.
