Liverpool vs Tottenham: When Harry met Salah!

in #football7 years ago

Sunday's game was a proper reminder of both teams strengths as well as weakness. Both these teams are capable of beating any team on their day so they had to settle for a draw when they faced each other. Below are the conclusions that can be drawn from yesterdays game.

1. Salah is one fire

Tottenham had 66% possession and yet Salah was able to touch the ball 21 times more than Harry Kane a stat which is just unbelievable for a forward player. He scored both the Liverpool goals and Carragher said this about his second goal- The only other man that can score that goal is Messi. Class!

2. Klopp didn't need to scapegoat the officials

Klopp accused the linesman of wanting to be the middle of interest in the aftermath of the game, which saw Spurs awarded two penalties. The first penalty was very difficult to give when Kane rounded Karius after a failed clearance form Lovren and collapsed on the ground. The second was awarded when Lamela was challenged by Van Dijk with one replay showing that the contact was minimal while the other one showing that he clearly kicked Lamela. The first one was debatable that Kane missed, however, the second one was correct;y awarded by the linesman. Klopp just blamed the linesman in the heat of the moment that he must refrain from in the future.

3. Spurs away record against the top 6 is very very poor under the Argentine

Since summer 2014 Spurs have just won once in 19 games that they've played against the top 6.

4 THAT Wanyama goal

That goal is what every kid dreams of scoring in their dreams. POwer, curve, accuracy. It had everything. If there was another a player in between he would have ended up in the net too, it was so fiercely struck. The keeper could have dived 30 minutes ago and still wouldn't get there, said Lee Dixon after the game.

5 Alexander Arnold

The 19-year-old was given a start ahead of Joe Gomez and he ended the game with the highest number of touches (63). He was solid in defense and equally good while going forward. An England call-up looks inevitable.

Salah is unstoppable this season.. What a signing he has proven to be!

Yes it's unbelievable that he was signed for just £37M when the likes of Lukaku and Morata costed more than double.

AND the fact that Mourinho's whiny ass sold him to Roma from the Chavs! Man, that guy really knows how to squash great talent (KDB, Salah, Lukaku, Mata, Mkhi, and I'm sure the list goes on!)

I don't understand what's up with him these days. Mourinho of Porto, Chelsea first season, Inter, is just a distant memory now. Watching him on the sidelines just makes me sad.
