Да, хорваты ожидали стартового давления от англичан. Кроме того, англичанам ещё и повезло со штрафным. Они добились того, чего не смогли добиться бельгийцы с французами: быстрого гола.
Да, англичане были лучше до перерыва. Не сказал бы что доминировали, но игровое преимущество у них было весьма ощутимое. Да и хорваты ошибались. Тот же Стринич сыграл непонятно возле своей штрафной, что подразумевает некую несобранность защиты хорватов до перерыва. Да и Кейну многое позволяли...
За счёт чего англичане были лучше в 1-ом тайме?
Командная скорость, отличное общекомандное движение, высокий прессинг, цепкость, большое количество подборов мяча, (к тому же контроль мяча у них был совсем неплох), большое количество выигранных единоборств на 2-м этаже, да и желания идти вперёд им было не занимать. Кроме того англичане, умело перекрывали свободные зоны атаки и довольно внимательно действовали в защите.
Да, ещё. Англичанам удалось закрыть на весь 1-й тайм лидера хорватов - Модрича. Мяч до него либо не доходил, либо с ним играли, (и его сразу же прессинговали), 2-3 англичанина: Хендерсон, Стерлинг + Кейн постоянно смещался, чтобы перекрывать Модрича.
Подозреваю, что Саутгейт решил проделать тот же трюк, что получился у французов с Де Брюйне. Перекрыть одного из лидеров, способного как мощно и точно пробить, отдать пас в нужный момент, так и подключится к атаке. И до перерыва у англичан это получилось.
В самом конце тайма для англичан прозвучал тревожный звоночек, превратившийся после перерыва в колокольный набат. (Вот только они этот набат так и не услышали, точнее Саутгейт посчитал это случайностью и не обратил на этот эпизод особого внимания). Высокий прессинг хорватов, вынудивший англичан ошибаться в защите.
После перерыва англичане запомнились в таком свете:
а) Разболтанностью игры, причём как в защите так и в нападении. Почему в целом опытная защита англичан сыграла настолько неуверенно и ненадёжно? Почему в атаке англичане не смогли создать особой опасности не только после перерыва, но и в доп. время?.. 2! удара в створ ворот Субашича за 120! минут.
б) Нервами, и спорами с Чакыром. (На взгляд автора - бессмысленно и безрезультатно).
в) Ужасающей "игрой" в обороне, точнее практически полным отсутствием вразумительных оборонительных взаимодействий;
г) Нехваткой физических сил и характера. В чём как раз и отличились хорваты. Хорватам всего хватило.
д) Англичане не смогли накрыть ещё и Ракитича на пару к Модричу. Не хватило ни сил, ни ресурсов, ни мастерства. Ведь нужно было тогда отряжать следить за 2-мя хорватами, не меньше 4-х! англичан. Почти полкоманды!
Реализуй хорваты всё, что они создали благодаря безалаберности игры англичан в обороне, они могли спокойно выиграть и без дополнительного времени. Минимум 3:1.
В чём секрет хорватов?
А они попросту перестроили свою игру. (Спасибо Даличу).
Более широкое использование флангов, в чём до перерыва хорваты не особо выделялись. Оба гола хорваты забили благодаря активной фланговой игре, а не только попытками пройти через центральную зону.
Высокий, и даже очень высокий прессинг хорватов, не только в центре поля, а и у штрафной англичан, приносящий результат раз за разом.
Захват контроля над игрой в исполнении хорватов. Даже скорее доминирование. Это у них вышло внешне легко и как бы само собой разумеющееся. Хотя, это скорее англичане отдали им инициативу ещё под конец 1-го тайма, (силы то не безграничны), правда вот уже во 2-ом тайме вернуть эту инициативу подопечные Саутгейта так и не сумели. Хорваты не дали.
В этой связи было чётко заметно, что англичане при прессинге выбивали мяч абы куда. Чем с радостью и пользовались хорваты. Правда, здесь нужно учесть и то, как хорваты разумно располагались во время выноса мяча англичанами, чтобы сразу перехватывать мяч и отправлять вперёд, в атаку. Защитники англичан явно такого не ожидали. И были здорово дезориентированы таким развитием событий. А ещё не успевали за хорватами в атаках.
Ещё нужно выделить игру Ракитича во 2-ом тайме. Он стал более активно подключатся к атакам хорватов, поучаствовал в обоих голах, да и не давал защите англичан передохнуть, либо прессингуя, либо нагружая защиту англичан пасами в их штрафную. Да и центр поля на пару с Модричем и не без помощи Брозовича захватил крепко. Причём хорваты так контроль за серединой поля англичанам и не отдали. А что? Им самим нужнее."
