Year Of Twenty Seven #2 | Food Adventures #2: I LOVE PHO

Good Evening Steemians!

It's almost midnight here in Australia and our house has only just had our power restored. A huge thunderstorm storm came out of nowhere yesterday afternoon and took us by surprise - causing a power outage to many parts of our city at the same time. Unfortunately we've had to throw out a lot of spoiled food.

Electricity is a luxury that I often take for granted. Something so crucial to our everyday lives, especially now in this technological era. So I'm very grateful to now have it restored to our house so I can power up my laptop and write this post.

I spent most of the day cleaning the house but made my way out for brunch to enjoy a delicious bowl of Pho Bo from Market Square in Sunnybank.

This is by far one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes. It is a steaming bowl of delicious rice noodles and beef soup. It is topped with thin slices of rare beef that cook quickly once the steaming hot soup is poured over. Restaurants will always provide a selection of garnishes that can be added into your Pho to suit your tastes - including beansprouts, chilli, lemon, mint, chilli sauce and hoisin sauce.

I prefer to keep the beef soup pretty much the way it is and only add a small amount of chilli for that spicy kick and lemon juice for a little bit of tang. Some people like to add the sauces into the soup however I personally feel that this spoils and changes that wonderful, authentic Pho taste. However, like I previously mentioned, you can mix and match the side additions to suit what you prefer.

That's a short summary of my food adventure for today. Will keep you all posted with more in the future. Time to head to bed as it's getting quite late and I have a very early morning start tomorrow.
