Benefits of eating watermelon
- removes dehydration
- reduces inflammation
- macular degeneration could be prevented
- soreness in muscle could be reduced
- the rich water content can help in digestion
- prevents sunburn and is good for hair and skin because of rich vitamin content like A and C
A note of warning - some people slice watermelon, mix it with sugar, keep it in plastic buckets and sell to thirsty travellers who stop and buy these ready to consume fruit. Please do not do so because there is this huge question of hygiene involved. Also, the fruits are exposed to harsh sunlight and kept in plastic buckets. If you spare a few minutes, you can buy whole fruits, slice and eat it fresh.
