Portuguese Flan - One Spoon, Two Spoon, The Whole Thing Gone!
We're used to the flan portions from Spain, a small little cup of it but in Portugual they'll give you a whole hunk when you're ordering it in one of many tascas. I guess they want to make sure that you're not going home hungry, I guess.

Yup! In Portugal you get a third of the whole thing, not just a slice! :D I guess your guess might be correct. In a traditional Portuguese home if you eat "like a little bird" it means you're not happy with the food given and that then you'll get home and complain to your own parents! :D So you just have to fill up your plate!
We couldn't believe the serving portions sometimes ... so in some restaurants where we knew they were huge we would split one one plate .. hehe! I miss the food.
Sometimes I think it's too much yes. I've been spliting desserts since I live in Portugal (almost 20 years!) :D But they are delicious indeed, especially appetisers and main courses!
