Roadtrip to the Highlands

So far the first week of the new year has been good to me. My friends and I decided to take a trip up to the highlands where there's a famous resort that sits on top of the mountain. Aside from just getting a chill day out, it is a shopper's paradise. Reaching there, we didn't know that everything was on sale from 50-75% and these aren't just your any common brands. Some of them are pretty high-end luxury brand.

For me, I wasn't expecting to buy anything because I just needed to get away from city life just one more time before the reality of work life starts to settle in again for 2019.

If you have not read my New Year Resolution Letter, I would urge you to go read that first to know what has been going through my mind as of late and what I'm expecting to achieve in 2019. It is definitely going to be a new season for me spiritually and a huge change. Just also recently, I've decided to get my latest work demoreel of my animation works done because I've received a job offer from a Singapore company. I've decided to just give it a shot and see what they offer me. And because I've already done my demoreel, I've also decided to send it to a bigger, more well-known company called, Bandai. The people who brought to you Digimon and many other Japanese toys and cartoons. I think I'm ready for the next level.

So for me, 2019 has started out pretty well because I've already stepped out of my comfort zone in looking for a better job. I've also told my friends that I will be leaving church in 3 months time, so that's a start that this whole changing church thing is already set in motion.

KFC Meal

I just realized that KFC is only good for their Fried Chicken and not any other. I ordered a newly promoted 'Go Bowl' and it was a sad looking mini bucket filled with fries and peeled chicken skin. I sometimes wonder who comes up with these new food menus.

Anyhoo, we had lunch before we drove up to the Highlands which took us about an hour.

The weather is definitely much colder at the mountaintop and when it is nighttime. With all the sales going on, I was tempted by my friends to go on a shopping spree with them. I think it's a good thing as well as I haven't been on one in like ages. Haven't got myself anything new and it's about time I splurge and pamper myself a little.

The Damage

Yes, everything costs a few thousand but because it was sales, a pair of RM1400(350usd) Shirt can only cost about RM400 (100usd). So u can imagine we bought quite a few things that day.

After everything, we decided to call it a night and had dinner at a nearby Korean restaurant.

I know that 2019 will be a good one for me, I just know it. Last year and the many years before, I've never felt that that current year was going to be any significant but this year has got me feeling good. Looking for a new job, new church, new relationship, and many other more personal things that I've planned to do this year. Definitely going to be out of my comfort zone but I'm sure it's going to be a good ride.
