Blessings from the Province.. with ❤️

I have always love the province/village life.. Fresh air ,away from city life , you have your own wide space , parents' house you can call yours too , the memories of childhood , and of course free fresh foods.

Yeah! i am so grateful for my family , coz everytime anyone of them come here either to visit me or they've something important to attend to in Metro Manila, they would always have goods for me and my little own fam.. I so love them because they know i am really happy just by opening items from them. And indeed i am , i am super thankful about it. So here i just wanna share special treats for me from my family in the province..

Lansones

This is how we call it here in PH. But out of curiosity i used google to know if other countries has this fruit too, and i've got knew knowledge aside from it says it's native with south east asian countries , i found out that this fruit bearing tree belongs to mahogany family , thanks google 😂. This fruit taste sweet and sour sometimes. Did you know that we make lanzones peeling dried then after that , we use it as anti mosquito by having "pausok" like you have to slowly burn it then let the smoke spread around the house.

Yes! i so love this kind of banana. This is also freshly picked from my father's trees there in the province / village just at the back of our house. I can either make sweetened bananas , fried bananas with sugar , steamed banana with cheese filling and i can even eat it raw . This is one of the reasons why i love my hometown , it never runs out of bananas , even banana trees of your neighbor you can ask for some of it , LOL. And there you won't be hungry anymore , i can eat it everyday of my life.

Suman Lihiya

I always request this whenever i got a chance to get back home there in our province. Suman sa lihiya , in english they call it sticky rice . This is made of * malagkit* as we call it , glutinous rice as many says it. The one i have is actually from a pasalubong center (store where you can buy goods from a specific place) , i just requested it from my sister so i can have a bite again . Wish granted as always . As you can see it has a sweet sauce on the side , that's actually made from coconut milk and sugar that was cooked slowly until it because like that. But you know there's another dip for this sticky rice , made out of coconut meat with sugar , but it's more like a dried version, like flakes , that when you dip the suman it will stick on it and the taste fits perfectly.

Dried Squid

Ay! this is specially requested by yours truly as well ,sponsored by my momma , As the name says , it's dried, but eventhough it's already like that you can still taste the squid flavor and when you chew it it feels like buble gum for me sometimes, probably depending on how i fried it. haha. Yes i just fry it as a way of cooking nothing else , perfect pair for spicy vinegar and rice . Burp because of dried pusit in our language.

Dried Fish

received_1421167801395277.jpeg

Same as the previous food , it was also dried , but there are many types of fish that is being sundried. This one , am not sure what's the name of the small fish , but i think it's a small version of what we call "anghel" or angel since we were kids , probably because it was sliced and it's like wings in form 😂. So with this one i love it fried as well of course , but since i was a small kid me and my siblings used to pair it with black coffee, black coffee being the soup on the rice , super yummy!!!

There you have it some of my food happiness with love from our province , by the way , you might be asking how did they got here? It was brought by my youngest brother., Thanks a lot to him. He stayed here last month , until last week for his seaman's training , so there, i can't wait for one of them to be here again , of course not just because of the goods they have for me , but more of i feel home whenever i have them with me. ❤️
