Easy Picadillo ~ Ground Beef Hash Stirfry
This is an easy, quick and yummy hash stir fry called picadillo. There are so many different recipes and variations of Latin American and Spanish dish called picadillo. I make this dish different everytime depending on what I have available. Picadillo is basically a ground meat stir fry, vegetables, spices and often found with raisins and olives. Video recipe at the end of this post. Enjoy.
How to Make Easy Picadillo ~ Ground Beef Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup finely diced onions
1 cup finely diced bell peppers
1/2 cup whole/sliced olives
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
handful of fresh chopped cilantro
1 tsp. Sazon
1 tsp. Oregano
1/2 tsp. cumin
salt and black pepper
3-4 finely minced cloves garlic
oil
In a pan on medium high add some oil and ground beef. Stir, chop and cook for 3-5 minutes until no longer pink.
Add onions, peppers, minced garlic and salt and pepper. Stir and cook for a couple more minutes.
Add tomato sauce, chopped parsley, sazon, oregano and cumin. Stir and cook for another minute.
Add olives and raisins, stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add water, bring up to a simmer, partially cover and cook for 10-15 minutes.
Add chopped cilantro, stir and cook for one minute.
Serve.

OMG Tess, this is too funny. I make this same exact recipe minus only the oregano. I actually also put dried cherries, cranberries or raisins in it for contrast of flavor. This is actually a real popular Spanish recipe but with out the raisins. That is too awesome.
