Tuwo shinkafa is a Nigerian dish which is majorly common among the Hausa’s. It is prepared using non parboiled white rice. It can also be prepared using rice flour, but this type of recipe shows the traditional method of using rice. Tuwo shinkafa is enjoyed with a variety of soups such as miyan kuka, miyan tuase and other Nigerian soups.

Tuwo shinkafa(fufu) is a local food, it is majorly found in the northern part of Nigeria, tuwo shinkafa is known as Nigerian fufu recipe that is prepared with soft rice variety.
Ingredients use in making Tuwo Shinkafa
White Rice(1 cup)
Water (Enough water to cook the rice till its gets soft)
How to Prepare Tuwo Shinkafa(fufu)
You should have no problem preparing this if you can make other morsel like Amala, Eba, Semo and wheat.
Directions
The rice must be very soft that becomes sticky when cooked, so that the grains can be easily mashed to make Tuwo (fufu).
Rinse the rice thoroughly and put it in a sizable pot.
Add enough water in the rice and make sure the water is above the rice, start cooking at normal heat temperature.
Mash the rice between your hands making sure that it has no grains or tiny resistance in it, when the first dose of the water dries.
Add more water to it, reduce the heat and continue cooking till it gets dries.
Repeat the process again till the rice is very soft that it melts and sticky when you press it.
Once the rice is very soft, mash it with a wooden spatula, by moving the rice in small quantities.
Cover it and leave to steam for another 2-3 minutes
Mix thoroughly and dish serving quantities and wrapping them up
You can also serve them in smaller balls.
Your Tuwo shinkafa(fufu) is ready to be consumed, you can serve them with any Nigerian soup. As for me, I love eating it with okra soup.
