Bitter gourd curry in pictures
Sliced bitter gourd
Before cutting
Tuvar Daal being cooked
Fried in oil along with seasoned mustard seeds, turmeric and salt.
Water is added and left to boil after which sambar masala and tamarind water or paste is added too.
The cooked Tuvar Daal is finally mixed in and boiled for a few seconds before being transferred to the serving dish.
It is a simple curry that can be made easily. The bitter gourd is from our garden and thankfully not too bitter.
If you stop at the fry stage, you can use it as a stir fry curry also.
The above is a little more watery than usual because I decided to use less of Tuvar Daal.
All images are mine
I really love this veggie
