It's Mulberry Season!!
It's mulberry season!!!
This is one of 4 wildcrafted mulberry trees at the @gardenofeden. They are native to Texas and thrive in this environment!
This is what its leaves look like, giving us wonderful shade from the hot summer sun and lots of delicious oxygen to breathe 🌱
These are its sweet, mild fruits! Mulberries come in dark or white varieties, and both kinds of trees grow here. This little mulberry is not yet ripe - it's red now, but will get dark indigo purple then fall right off the tree when it is perfectly edible.
We lay tarps under the trees to collect the mulberries, and harvest them daily when in season!
These yummy little beauties are packed with anti-fungal, anti-cancer, antioxidant, anti parasitic, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial compounds! Thanks, nature!!!!
✨💛✨ Sara!
Yay!
I've seen mulberries in this area in protected places. This is one I should consider when I replant...
Definitely worth a consideration! They need so little and give so much 💛
What a blessing to harvest and eat directly from the tree! Thanks Nature Indeed!
