Eating Roasted Plantain

Roasted plantain which is commonly called boli in Nigeria is a simple snack which can get you really satisfied for the day.
Boli can be prepared at home by using a barbecue or an oven, it is done by slicing the unripe plantain open and setting it on a low medium heat to prevent it from burning, it is also important that you turn it from side to side regularly.

When the plantain is ready, you can fry a pepper stew and get a fish to go along with it, it usually has a yummy perfect taste especially when it is consumed fresh and hot.

Roasted plantain (Boli) has the following health qualities:

It has a high level of crude fiber therefore it helps proper digestion.

It is a good source of starch and proper energy.

It helps regulate the digestive system.

It helps to make the immune system function properly.

It contains a definite portion of potassium.

It helps the bran to function properly.

They contain a considerable amount of vitamin A and C.

Plantains helps to reduce the discomfort of a menstrual period.

I must not forget to mention that they are as well satisfying.

Nice. From the last pic, it looks like you are leaving half the peel (lengthwise) on while roasting, is this correct? I usually pan fry ripe plantains in a cast iron skillet...will have to try charcoal next time.

the plantain is totally peeled and not half peeled, you should try it out soon but be careful it doesn't get burnt.
