I am not a Pastry Chef...but I still love creating some unique desserts!!!

in #food7 years ago

Hello my dear Steemit friends!

As many of you know it by now, I have worked in world famous hotels and restaurants for the past 15 years as chef and I even have 5 years of experience as Executive Chef in international hotel brands like The Westin and The St Regis!

During my career in the food industry I also had the opportunity to visit and work in some other countries like Italy, France, Maldives, UAE - Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These types of international exposures have really helped me in growing to a higher level and also discover different types of food culture around the world!

Cooking progressive food is my passion and I really love cooking savory over sweet food!!! When I started my career, I had a choice to make...either learn the savory side or the pastry/bakery side!!!

My decision was finally to stay on the savory side! This does not mean that I don't like desserts, I am such a great lover of sweet food!

So for most of my career in the food industry I have prepared mainly savory dishes...but I did also prepare/create some unique desserts which today while going through some old folders, i saw them....memories memories...let me share some with you! Hope you enjoy them!

ps. These pictures date from 2008 till 2012!!!

So here you are my dear foodies, some shots of some of the desserts I have tried in the past! Even today I love trying some new ones from time to time, but I am more interested in eating dessert than preparing them!Lol!

Are you more on the savory side chef or pastry chef?

I would like to hear from you guys! Please do comment below!

Those desserts look amazing and professional! I've always preferred the sweet over the savory. But I still have a long way to go, hopefully one day I'll reach that level (:

Hey my friend, thanks so much for stopping by and appreciating my work! With time, practice and experience, you will surely do great dishes!

They say you eat with your eyes, it's true because I can almost taste how good these are by looking at them.

You got some serious skills my friend, it's no wonder your art has taken you all over the world and in some of the most exclusive restaurants.

Bless.

I have a sweet tooth @progressivechef and these desserts all look wonderful - made me crave something sweet now - I don't think I have a preference in preparation - love making savoury dishes - but as far as eating goes - desserts all the way haha

I am so glad that my post made you get that craving my friend! I just love freshly made desserts, irresistible!

Lovely plating! And those desserts look truly delectable! Thanks for sharing!

Oh thanks so much my friend! You are the master of plating btw!

Thanks! I'm honored especially because it's coming from you. You probably don't realize it but you actually push me to get better. So thanks to you!

It's funny how most of us who cook regularly often excel in either savoury or sweet recipes. For me personally, I'm a much better savoury cook, I find desserts require a completely different skill set and more finesse which I don't think I've developed yet.

You seem to do a great job at both though! A rare talent :)

Making desserts really require precision in everything my friend. I do love making desserts but I have a preference for savory though!
Thanks so much for appreciating my work! Feeling honored!

No worries, the honour is mine, you're becoming a Steemit foodie celebrity now!! Testament to your hard work, keep it up :)

Beautiful! Looks so yummy, I could almost eat the photo..lol Wish I could intern under you. I have been a fan for some time!

It seems to be my lucky day today...I have been getting such great compliments lately! Wow!
Thanks so much for enjoying my creations my friend! I wish I could organize some type of course where everyone could join and learn together!

Yes that would be cool. why not make videos an and post them on dtube? Also, luck has nothing to do with it. You are an amazing chef and your photos speak for themselves.
