Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Growing up I always thought chocolate covered strawberries were the ultimate indulgence. Decadently delicious chocolate wrapped around crisp, sweet strawberries are a perfect, festive treat. Now I know I don’t have to wait for special occasions to enjoy these; making chocolate covered strawberries at home is super simple, and lots of fun if you have a loved one get involved.

There’s really not much to it, except dry, drip, and dry again. If you want to add a little flair, I recommend melting both white and dark chocolate and layering the chocolate or using a toothpick to make designs. You can also dip the wet chocolate strawberries in sprinkles, miniature chocolate chips, or any little candies you desire.

And of course, these make a great gift for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

• 1 pint of strawberries
• 1 cup milk chocolate chips
• 1 cup white chocolate chips

Thoroughly wash the strawberries, and make sure they are completely dry before beginning. I like to lay them flat on a paper towel to ensure they are fully dry. Using a double boiler set up (one small pot inside of a slightly larger pot which has a few inches of simmering water inside), melt the chocolates in individual pots. Pour the melted chocolates into separate glass or heat proof containers. Dip each strawberry in desired chocolate, place on parchment paper to dry. Feel free to double dip strawberries in both chocolates for an extra layer of deliciousness.
