ROOSTER SOUP
"Extra" roosters in the flock can be a big blessing.
If you order "straight run" chicks, or if you hatch your own baby chickens from the eggs your flock lays, chances are you'll end up with some "extra" roosters at some point. We culled our roosters a bit ago and sent a couple off to "freezer camp," but slowly they are leaving freezer and joining us for dinner. Tonight, one joined us for soup, and it was amazing. It even had some "snake gourds" in it too! Here's a pile of pics... props to Mama-Pepper.

Roosters are often tough and stringy, however this adds lots of flavor to their meat. Which is perfect for soups.
