We'd like to introduce you to our new food-blog series where we share our ultimate life recipes with you! Today we are going for some serious grown up sweets. Are you ready for our Drunken Cherry Brownies

Here's what you need to make these delicious Drunken Cherry Brownies

Drunken cherry`s

  1. -100 ml port wine
  2. -50 ml cherry syrup
  3. -50 ml of water
  4. -250 gram of frozen cherry’s
  5. -1 cinnamon stick

Brownie’s

  1.  -225 grams of icing sugar or powdered sugar
  2. -75 grams of sugar
  3. -1 teaspoon of baking powder
  4. -170 grams of flower
  5. -75 grams of cacao powder
  6. -2 eggs
  7. -150 grams of cream butter
  8. -40 ml sunflower oil
  9. -40 grams chocolate shavings
  10. -1 spoon of applesirup

Some extra things you might need

  1. -Plastic kitchen foil
  2. -Butter for the baking mold
  3. -Baking mold
  4. -Baking paper

First of all you start with making the drunken Cherry’s. If you have the time, start with this a day in advance so that the cherry’s have the time to absorb all of this tasty Port wine, But when you don’t have enough time you want to make sure they have at least 60 min to marinate.

Step 1 – Making the drunken cherry’s

Put the cherry syrup along with the water and the Port wine into a pan. Heat up the liquids until it starts to boil. Pour the heated liquids on top of the cherry’s , add the cinnamon stick and cover it with plastic kitchen foil. Now let it cool and marinate for at least 60 min. The longer the better.

Step 2 – Making the brownie mixture

Start by pre-heating the oven to 160°C (320°F) Butter the baking mold, and add a layer of baking paper on the bottom of the mold, so that you won’t have any problems getting the brownie out at a later stage.

Mix the powdered sugar with the normal sugar, baking powder, flower, and the cacao. Add the following ingredients one by one, start with the eggs, cream butter, apple syrup, and oil. Mix until you get an even batter.

Add the chocolate shavings and drunken cherry’s, and give it a quick mix.   All you have to do now is to scoop this mixture into the baking mold and make sure it’s an even layer throughout the baking mold. The Brownie will take about one hour in the oven on 160°C.

This means a lot coming from you, we love your blog! Have a nice day!

Great recipes! Both the cherry syrup and the brownie base. I would think that your "drunken cherry" recipe would also integrate nicely into a black forest cake recipe, too. Well-done!

Indeed sounds great! Will be trying it next time ;)

Thanks!

Awesome!!! Your photos are fantastic, too. My favourite was the batter going into your lined baking dish. :)

I get hungry every time i look at it, lol
Too bad its not the most healthy recipe out there :)
