How to Choose a Good Watermelon
Holaaaa who is fond of eating watermelon here? Raise your hands! Surely you know dong, watermelon has many good properties for the body. Therefore, there are vitamin content that serves as antioxidants, such as vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, vitamin C, and beta-carotene. Watermelon is also included in the row of low-calorie and fat-free fruit. But like the hell if you buy watermelon and can the zonk? The fruit is large, but fit eaten tastes bland. Bete! So no one choose watermelon again, let's see how to choose a mature watermelon.
1. Unplug the stem
Not magic is not magic, it's the easiest way. Usually watermelon still has a stalk on the top. Well, to know the semangkaya already mature or not, you just pull out the stalk. If the stalks straight out, it means that the semangkaya are cooked.
2. View the Green Colored Area in Watermelon
Well after that go perhatiin suas-segang deh. You know, watermelons have segments of green in all parts of the fruit from top to bottom? The older the green color this means the better, watermelon is ripe.
3. Check the Bottom Bottom of Watermelon
You can also check the maturity of the fruit through the bottom of the watermelon. Usually nih, at the bottom of the watermelon there is a circular yellow spots. This circle is called a spot field because it is in direct contact with the ground. Now the wider and older the yellow color indicates a ripe watermelon. Why? Because it means that the watermelon gets enough sunlight during the growth process.
4. Avoid Watermelon Having White Spots
Eits if you see watermelon have white patches, do not buy it first! This white color is indicative of the fruit is less sunlight loh, so the possibility of watermelon is not ripe properly. Already know, right, if to ripen the watermelon needed enough sunshine?
5. Select Heavy Watermelon
You know why watermelon is heavy because 90% watermelon consists of water. So the more weight of watermelon is a sign that the watermelon is ripe. Yeay!
6. Tap Watermelon Fruit
Indeed this way a bit tricky anyway. But many people believe that knocking watermelon fruit can also tell us whether the semangkaya are cooked or not. If it sounds loud, the fruit is not yet ripe. But if knocked semangkaya sound rather 'deep' and does not echo, the sign of watermelon is ripe.
7. Avoid Buying Watermelon in the Rainy Season
During the rainy season it will be difficult for the watermelon to get sunlight. Though watermelon need sun rays to mature perfectly. So it's good do not buy watermelon in the rainy season if you do not want to be a zonk.
8. Buy a Local Watermelon
Eits do not get me wrong. In addition to helping the local watermelon growers, it turns out with you choosing a local watermelon would be more likely to get a ripe watermelon. How come? Because local watermelons have a greater chance to mature on the tree than imported watermelons.
Additional tips:
What if the semaraya have been cut with the brothers of the sellers? Find a watermelon that is bright red with dark seeds, yes. As much as possible avoid buying watermelon with pale red or many seeds are white.
