CALABAZA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE AND PISTACHIOS

Hello dear Steemians. I tell you that to take advantage of the fruits of this season, today I want to show you the process of preparing a rich "Auyama Cake" or also known in other countries as "Calabaza", combining it with the delicious flavor of "Chocolate" by adding it melted as a decorative cover over the cake and sprinkling it with crushed pistachios.

If you have never tasted an Auyama cake, I told you that it is nothing special to prepare it and its flavor is incredibly tasty, because it is a cake that although its surface is toasted, its interior is quite moist and fluffy, and when adding the exotic flavor and the beneficial properties that chocolate offers, we can enjoy a perfect dessert for lunch and sharing among family and friends.


You just have to follow these simple steps to enjoy this rich cake:

Ingredients:

• 200 grams of wheat flour.
• 200 grams of pump.
• 2 butter spoons.
• 1 cup of panela or sugar.
• 1 spoon of vanilla.
• 1 tablespoon of cinnamon.
• 1 spoonful of yeast.
• 1 pinch of salt.
• 50 grams of bitter chocolate.
• ½ cup of milk.
• 5 spoonfuls of crushed pistachios.

Preparation process:

• Cut the auyama into small pieces and boil until it softens. Then drain it through a sieve and then add it in a container and start crushing with the help of a fork until it is pureed.

• The butter melts in the microwave, and is poured into the container containing the pumpkin puree. Start beating manually until a homogeneous mixture is reached.

• Then add the panela, salt, vanilla and cinnamon and continue beating.

• Then add the flour with the yeast and beat constantly to integrate all the ingredients. Vegetable paper is placed in the mold, the mixture is added and the oven is pre-heated at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.

• Once ready the cake is left to cool, and we take the time to prepare the chocolate coating and for that we melt the cacao bar with a bain-marie and add the milk and two tablespoons of crushed pistachios. Finally to decorate the cake is covered with this chocolate mixture and sprinkled with the remaining pistachio. And keep a few minutes in the refrigerator until the cover manages to harden a bit.

• And ready to serve this delicious cake accompanied by coffee with milk or a good hot chocolate.

Many people tend to discard this dessert when they are mentioned that it is based on an auyama, most think that this vegetable will not give a good flavor, since many use it only for soups, but in reality it is the opposite "La Auyama o Pumpkin "gives us that sweet and creamy taste that we love and also that satisfies the desire to eat sweet, that's why in other countries it is widely used in the preparation of different desserts.
