43rd time making vegan sushi (with explanation)
Hello Steemit!
Today I made sushi again, just like I do almost every saturday ^^
I decided to blog a bit more extensive about my sushi today as I did here.
My last time making sushi, the 42nd time for those interested.
Well, enough with all the small-stalk, here is my recipe;
Recipe with pictures;
- Choose how much rice you want and fill the rice cooker/pan with rice.
- Let the rice soak in water for an hour.
- Then wash the rice.
- Wash until it looks like this (crystal clear);
- Cook your rice (time varies, but I assume that everyone knows how long it takes for their own portion ^^)
- After cooking, let the rice cool down (this can take an hour)
- Once the rice has cooled down we go to the next step sushi;
- Before you start with your sushi you first prepare your chosen vegetables (or something else)
- Let's start with the inside-out roll;
- Prepare your sushi mat.
- Put your seaweed on it.
- Fill your seaweed with rice.
- Throw some sesame seeds onto the rice and turn it over.
- Fill the back with your chosen filling.
- Start rolling!
- Continue rolling until you reach the end.
- You can decide to leave it this way or put something on top like this;
- Now cut the inside-out in pieces;
- Next is maki sushi;
- Let's start again with the seeweed, this time you use less rice like this;
- Then add the filling like this;
- First make a hilly-like movement at the filling part so that it is firmly secured;
- After this you continue rolling till the end;
- Now cut the maki sushi in pieces;
- I made two maki rolls, so here is my second one;
- That's it, then you add everything to a plate and enjoy ^^
- Besides sushi you might want a side dish, I made tteokbokki, since this is a simple recipe, I only show a photo explanation (you can just click on the link if you want more explanation)
- Well, that's it, hope you enjoyed reading this :D
Wow
^^
Once again, I'm reminded of the aquatic-ape theory, which explains why we are so nourished by seaweed. I'd really like to make more sushi, and I like the fact that yours is meatless–that simplifies things a lot! I bet our kids would like your "tteokbokki" soup too, because it looks like a fun one to say. :) "Chek-bok-key"? Thanks for your nice sushi demo.
Thanks ^^
Tteokbokki is really spicy, so if you're gonna feed it to your kids I recommend you to use less of this spicy sauce (:
Ooh, thanks for the heads up. Yeah, if there's anything my kids complain about a lot it's this: "Too spicy!!!" :)
Haha I thought so!
I really need to practice my sushi. You're sushi looks amazing.
Thanks ^^
I'm looking forward to see yours (:
I like your documentation style. 👍
You are part of my "Food by Red Fish" #12 post.
Thanks :D
i love sushi
Who does not like sushi?! :D
I enjoyed reading this so much! You are now my sushi guru :) Saving this for the next time I make Sushi
Haha, thanks, glad you found it helpful ^^
Tell me when you make it, can't wait to see it :D
