I love corned beef.
You may already know this.
The name, Corned Beef comes from the large grains of salt used to cure the beef. Those grains of salt were called “corns”.
It became highly popular in world war 1 and world war 2 as fresh meat was rationed. Corned beef since it is cured “preserved” would last a long time without spoiling.
Thank you for providing some historical insight. It was very interesting and understandable.
