Cake or art? Both!
We all love desserts, at least most of us do. Usually this love is limited to eating desserts but for me, it is very enjoyable to make them and serve to people. I love it when people enjoy my desserts and I love to hear (hopefully well-deserved) compliments. Since I’m quite an artistic person and I’m always doing things very accurately, it is also seen in my desserts, especially cakes.
I would like to make this post about the beauty of the cakes I have made and that’s why I won’t share my recipes this time. I’ll just tell a small story about every cake and some details about the process. Enjoy! :)
This cake has a perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. I reduced the amount of sugar in raspberry topping which gave this cake a brisker taste. White chocolate decorations were difficult to place on the top because they were very fragile and melt in my fingers. I solved this problem by placing them with tweezers. I’ve got a laugh or two about being too exact. ;)
This cake is similar to raspberry & white chocolate cake but made with blueberries (or bilberries to be exact, sorry @apsu, I’ll still call them blueberry). However, this cake is also heavenly. The logo on the top is made of white chocolate. I placed the logo just before serving so that it didn’t get dyed by blueberries. I made this cake in honor of our new car two years ago and served it to my colleagues.
Another blueberry cheesecake with white chocolate. I just love this combination! It has taste and it has colours, natural ones, not artificial. The base of the cake is a brownie, which was, by the way, very good by itself.
This cakes look is deceiving. By frosting being so white, it may be quite surprising that the cake is chocolaty (dark brown) inside and two layers of filling are violet and white with chocolate chips. Unfortunately, I don’t have the picture of a sliced cake, but it looked nice! Decorations on the top of the cake are nuts with chocolate covering. You can’t see that properly from the picture but the candies on the top are relatively big and this cake is huge!
I loved baking this cake and making decorations for it. I'll definitely do a Sacher cake again in the future! The cake turned out tasty, moist and beautiful. :D Those wings are made of dark chocolate and roses of sugar mass that harden when dry. It took me quite a long time to make these roses but with practice it should get easier.
While writing this post, I surprisingly started to crave for something delicious. I don’t have any cakes here now but maybe an ice-cream will do. :)
