Quinoa with Honey: An AMAZING Superfood!

Quinoa has truly become recognized as a superfood more and more and has amazing benefits if incorporated into your diet! It was seen as sacred by the Inca Empire and considered "the mother of all grains" that was a staple in their diet.

Today I made some delicious honey and butter quinoa for breakfast, and whenever I consume quinoa I really do feel more energy and a good kind of difference in my body.
I just feel better and more ready to face the day. 😊

Let me share some of the amazing benefits of quinoa with you!

1. Quinoa is Very Nutritious.

A serving of quinoa contains:
8 grams of protein
5 grams of fiber
Manganese
Magnesium
Phosphorus
Folate
Copper
Iron
Zinc
Potassium
Vitamins B1, B2, B3, and B6
A small amount of calcium and vitamin E

Quinoa has a high nutrient content that other edible cereals do not have as much of, and a small amount of it goes a long way!

2. Quinoa Can Increase Your Healthiness and Help Fight Disease.

Quinoa contains the plant compound flavonoids Quercetin, Kaempferol, and others that have anti-cancer, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory effects. Essentially, consuming this superfood aids your body in warding off disease/sickness and helps you stay healthy 🌱 😏

3. Quinoa is Very High in Protein and a Good Source of Daily Fiber.

One of the huge aspects of quinoa that impressed me is that it contains all nine essential amino acids which is rare to find in plant foods; when a food contains all nine essential amino acids, it is considered a complete protein.

Not only is quinoa delicious as a breakfast cereal, a serving of it is packed with 8 grams of complete protein, 5 grams of fiber, is gluten-free, aids in warding off diseases, and is full of other nutrients your body needs! Talk about an awesome superfood to consume every day!

Here is the recipe of how I prepare Quinoa:

1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add 1 cup of quinoa. Turn it on low to simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until all liquid is absorbed.

2. Add your choice of honey, butter, blueberries, pecans or almonds, bananas-- anything that you personally love to eat and believe would be good with it!

Food today has ceased to be just a source of energy for a person. It is not just a set of proteins, fats and carbohydrates that covers the daily consumption of calories. Science has long known that human health requires not only nutrients, but also vitamins, macro - and micronutrients, and fiber, which have to be obtained from food. It truly is difficult to find food that contains a significant amount of nutrients, micronutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, complete protein, and fiber.
Quinoa truly does contain a lot health benefits when consumed. The texture of it, when cooked, is very unique from any other food I have tried-- but it is very delicious and I plan to continue eating it every morning for breakfast!
