Parisian Gourmet - Day 15
Fresh ingredients are key elements in good cooking. One of the lessons I've learned from watching Kitchen Nightmares (yeah, I have a weakness for Gordon Ramsay, so help me God), was that you should never use frozen stuff when cooking good food (for my day-to-day home cooking I use quite a bit of frozen vegetable, although never when I myself host a party or dinner). So when I go to restaurants that are supposed to serve good food, I measure them, among the rest, by the quality of their ingredients.
As you can see in this dish, there are fresh tomato slices with white fish (I don't remember which one, oh the shame), and crumble on top. I can assure you that both the fish and the tomato were fresh, and that the dish was very good. Maybe even Gordon would approve...

Ya we should use fresh vegetables while cooking and not the freezing beacause frozen vegetables lose their freshness and taste which is important for getting good cooked stuffs
Usually I agree, but when I cook broccoli or put come cauliflower to be grilled in the oven, I don't mind that much. For soup, too. Frozen vegetables are much cheaper here than fresh ones, usually, and so for day-to-day cooking we tend to prefer those, for specific dishes that aren't affected by the lack of crispness.
Oh i see. We have a farm so we prefer to cook fresh vegetables than frozen one.
That definitely sounds much better. I live in a city, so farm is not really an option :-)
