Yes, I would call either extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil paleo friendly. Remember - could your grandmother have made it in her own kitchen? If yes, it's a real food fat.

Where things go astray though is the sugar. It's not on your ingredient list, but you use it to caramelise the walnuts. If you were to use a little maple syrup (or honey) to caramelise the walnuts, then it would be a suitable paleo side.

Especially if you serve the salad alongside a nice steak or some roast chicken ;-)

Thank you for your reply . To caramelize I used Honey ... anyway, no risk, paleo out.

Just change the words then from "add sugar" to "add honey" and it's paleo compatible. I didn't mean for you to take the paleo tag off. My comment explaining was enough for people to be able to see how to make it paleo.
