Cooking the Tarot: The Fool Cake

The Fool is Card Zero in the Major Arcana, both the beginning and the end of the journey. He's my boo. With the Fool, you jump off the cliff but never land; you have perfect faith in the universe catching you. Plus, you have a really cute puppy, which is sort of a fool in his own way. Look, you can derpily trip over your own feet and still have amazing instincts and utter happiness, right? All the elements are present in the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith image- a shining sun, open air, rugged earth, and crashing waves.
To completely embody the spirit of the Fool, this sweet and savory cheezecake is made of ingredients that traditionally purify, energize, and revitalize- exactly what you need at the beginning and/or end of your own journey.

THE FOOL CAKE
1 frozen pie crust
1 1/2 c soaked cashews, to raise energy
1/2 c silken firm tofu
1/2 c coconut milk, for a positive spiritual influence
Juice of 2 blood oranges, for happiness
1 Tb apple cider vinegar
1 Tb honey, for fulfillment
1 Tb fresh rosemary, for clarity
1/4 tsp turmeric to purify
1/2 tsp sea salt for resurrection of the soul

Blend filling ingredients until smooth, scrape into crust, and then bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes, until the crust is sun-golden, and allow to cool. Top with sprouts, chives, greens, or any combination thereof to represent new beginnings.

1/4 honey
1 Tb sriracha

Mix, and drizzle over each slice.
