Mediterranean Stuffed Grape Leaves Recipe - FOOD PHOTO

Today i have a special dish from the mediterranean kitchen the grape leaves, it is so famous in greek, turkish and middle east.
I love this dish and it is one of my favourit ever. Maybe you see it waird to eat the grapp leaves but belive me it is amazing and so yummy.

Since i have a grape tree at home i'll enjoy this dish several times befor the end of summer and look at these beautiful green leaves, it just call me to eat LOL.

If you going to try this recipe i advice you to choose the light green young leaves and by the way the fresh leaves are much tasty than the canned leaves, also there are many stuffed for this recipe and i choose the popular rice and lamb to make i found it so delisious an by hand.

I think it's enough right here, i'll give you the full recipe and i'm sure you gonna love the sour yummy taste.

Yield: 3 persons
Prep time: 60 mins
Cooking time: 55 mins

Ingredients:

1 kg of grape leaves

For filling:

1 1/2 cup short-grain rice
200g minced lamb meat
1/2 cup fresh parsley finely chopped
2 tbsp finely chopped mint
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion finely chopped
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 tsp black pepper
salt, to taste
1/2 tsp cinnamon

For sauce:

6 Cups of water
3 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 medium onion
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil

The way:

-Put In a large suace pan water to boil, cook the grap leaves in a boiling water for a minute until changing the color.

  • Drain the leaves in a colander.

  • In a bowl wash and soak rice for 20 minutes, drin then add the lamb meat, parsly, mint, all the filling ingredients mix until well combined.

  • Take a leaf of grape and place the filling and follow the steps in the photo below.

  • In a large sauce pan place 3 leaves at the bottom and then place the wrapped leaves.

  • To prepare the sauce: bring the 6 cups of water to boil ad the lemon, tomato paste, spices, oil and onion. Boil for 5 minutes, then pour the sauce gentely on the grapp leaves until cover.
  • Take a plate and place it upside down on top of the leaves, cook for a minute on a high heat then reduce the heat.
  • Cook at a medium heat for about 45-55 minutes until well cooked.
  • Remove the plate and serve the grape leaves with bread.
