🎄 GINGERBREAD HOUSE 2016 - WILDERNESS MOUNTAIN LODGE 📷 FOOD PHOTO SHOOT 📷
In celebrating STEEMIT's first Christmas, I though I'd share with you my annual Gingerbread House.
I finally finished it, my annual gingerbread house, and this year I may have gotten a little carried away with the size. Haha, I somehow keep scaling them up every year without meaning too. Believe it or not, this was much smaller in my head when I was dreaming it up.
I just wanted to do a quickie little bonus post today so I could share my gingerbread enthusiasm and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! So yeah, and this year’s house was inspired mostly by the short time my family lived in Northern Idaho a few years ago because it’s around this time of year that we find ourselves missing it the most (all that snow!). I spent a long time debating my ideas but I narrowed them down to about 3. Than I asked my whole gang which one I should do this year and the idea for a mountain log cabin resort/ lodge won the vote hands down.
Oh, and also, if you want to try making your own gingerbread men or houses this year (which I compleately recommend if you have the time), I will be posting next my gingerbread recipe that I’ve been using for a long time now. It’s my favorite because it tastes great but bakes very strong and solid for building with.
Alright, have a great week (watch plenty of Christmas movies and rock out to your favorite holiday tunes for me!) I hope you’re all having a great season with friends and family and I wish you all the happiest holidays ever!
ALL CONTENT IS MINE AND ORIGINAL! All of these food photos were taken with my Nikon D5300 and my favorite Lens, the Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G. Most every time, I cross post on my personal blog which you can find in my INTRO POST.

Woow!! It's so beautiful :) Congratulations, you may had lot's of work with this, but must be proud!!
AMAZINZ JOB!!
Wow, huge compliment! Oh, and how nice for someone to see this and realize the work involved. That is rewarding, thanks so much!!
Totally deserved! For me is simple as this: "Can I do it?! No, never, not even if I attended a course or workshop"!! I like to cook and don't mind to wait for the results, but nothing compared to this! :) Hope you get proper reward :)
Great job...pictures of the progress would have been cool! um now when do we eat it?
Here is a progress shot. I normally do not do progress shots because I have no control of the lighting. I am too much of a control freak and perfectionist. But, here's a horribly lit progress shot -
hahah your funny those are awesome! now i want to eat it even more!
This is almost more a work of art than food! Good job!
A kind complimenting comment from @sirwinchester. I am honored. Thank you for the kind words
this is great! everything is in proportion. it looks like you may have design experience. i have done building myself.
this is truly an edible complex.
yeah, this is my 7th year in a row of doing the family Gingerbread house. Every year gets more and more complex. Thanks for taking the time to comment

Delightful house !!! This is a great job, you have a talent :)))
Super kind awesome compliment. Thank you so much!!
Looks great!! Nice job!!
Very kind, @knittybynature. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment
That is very creative! Is it my imagination or are those fish in the "water"?
Well, actually, what you see in the water was my attempt at ice and snow, but if fish is how you interpret it, then fish it is. Thank you so much for commenting!
It's very creative! And delicious, I'm sure.
Thanks so much for commenting @countryispired. I have been noticing your posts. It looks like you will be a star. Keep up the good work. We will be having demolition day of the Lodge next week, or I should say after Christmas Day. Come by and help us eat it. It's just a hop skip and a jump from you, I'm sure. STEEM ON!!
Wow, I am surprised to hear that you think I will be a star. I have very humble intentions here on Steemit. Guys like @papa-pepper are the ones that are really in the spotlight, making things happen here.
My wife is waging a war against me being on Steemit. She is so irritated to see me on here that I am afraid our marriage is falling apart. I get less and less time to Steem. But it is OK for her to be on Facebook (Fakebook) and Snapchat reading posts with no creativity or talent. I only wish she could see how much enjoyment people get from posting creative content and seeing others' work. She won't give Steemit a chance and just sees it as a waste of time that will pass in time.
Thanks for your response, and enjoy that wonderful ginerbread!
So nice. It must have taken a lot of time.
Yeah, I started planning weeks ago, but actual hands on started Tuesday and I finished late yesterday. Hard to say how many hours I put in the project, but I must admit, it was fun.
What an amazing and delicious post! Wonderful! Thank you! (upvoted)
