Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of Eden

It's a lovely day in the Garden of Eden, and we're sharing another lovely feast!


We're following an anti-candida cleanse that focuses heavily on fresh fruits and veggies, leafy greens, root vegetables, and squash. We are temporarily eliminating sugar, meat, wheat, and dairy from our diet, and everyone in the community is observing a difference in both how they feel and look! 

Today we had a mixed veggie frittata, sautéed zucchini with onions, a raw carrot slaw salad, and hot sweet potato soup!



We fired up the handmade rocket stove to cook this meal in our outdoor kitchen. We burn use discarded fence panels donated to us by a friend who has a fencing company (otherwise he would have to pay to unload them at the landfill). We turn "trash" into meals!



Our soup was filled with all kinds of yummy veggies - sweet potatoes, onions, cabbage, carrots, and lots of fresh herbs from the garden! Soups are great ways to cook relatively quickly for a large group, and we can also use veggies that are not at the absolute height of their freshness anymore. 



Look how beautifully it turned out! It yields a delicious dish; the broth in particular is filled with lots of nutrients! 



To get even more veggies, we had a nice side of sautéed zucchini, onions, and peppers. We have an abundance of these non-starchy vegetables lately, so we are enjoying them in some form with almost every meal. 



The frittata utilized eggs right from our chickens and a colorful mix of vegetables as well. Frittatas usually contain some sort of cheese, but since we are avoiding dairy for our cleanse, we made a delicious version without it! We use lots of herbs to add flavor, and thankfully we grow a huge selection of them in our garden including a variety of basils and mints, oregano, rosemary, and lemon balm.



Food is important and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food.

Onions enrich any soup.

We use them in almost every dish.

Soup is always good, especially when you throw in some chilies :-)
