Feeding the Homeless to Protest Laws Against Feeding the Homeless: We're Prepping Your Gracious Donations!steemCreated with Sketch.

Donations are pouring in for our Feed the Need event on Saturday, and we're so thankful for your support!

We're heading to Dallas on Saturday to bring hot food, clothes, sleeping bags, and toiletries to people in need, despite the fact that it's illegal to hand out food to homeless people without paying taxes first.

Thank you so much for supporting our endeavor, Steemit! We're really grateful for the funds we raised on our last homeless feed post, and we are already alchemizing your generosity.

We are sorting through hundreds of pounds of food donations we received last night.

We're especially grateful to have apples, oranges and bananas to share; at our last event for the homeless, fruit and water were the most requested items. We're excited to provide!

Event organizers for Don't Comply have been rocking it on the donation front too: they received a $1,000 donation towards acquiring sleeping bags, hats, and socks! We are going to an area where people live in tents under an overpass, so warm survival gear is primo.

There's going to be a massive cold front moving into Dallas on Saturday; it's projected to drop from 69 to 24 degrees. It's important to get warm stuff to people before then.

The gentlemen of Don't Comply have also secured chicken and ribs to feed 200-300 people, and we will cook them along with our overflowing abundance at the Garden of Eden on Friday. We will show @emancipatedhuman and @murdochpizgatti et al. from Don't Comply how to prepare everything sustainably in our outdoor kitchen--we'll use free fuel and free equipment and free food to make free meals for people in need.

It's gonna be awesome, and we'll have even more Steemians join us to serve food at Feed the Need on Saturday to spread awareness that it is actually illegal to feed people in Dallas, Texas without paying taxes.

We draw attention to these skewed values. Rather than participate in a system that endorses this foolishness or sit around and complain about the sorry state of affairs in this country, we live solutions every single day. If you would like to contribute, you are welcome to

  • volunteer with us in Dallas on Saturday, December 17th at 11 am to serve hot meals
  • drop off gear at the GOE
  • make a financial contribution--for only $3, we can harvest, prepare, package, deliver, serve, and clean up 1 meal
  • upvote for FREE here on Steemit--our rewards are dedicated to feeding others
  • and/or share via social media, as it goes a long way towards our project

We can accomplish so much when we work together towards a common goal. This incredible outpouring of support we have received means Feed the Need is already a great success!

Super special thanks to @theprophet0 and @jamesc for your extended support of our community! You guys are awesome. And a super duper special thanks to @ned and @dantheman and all the developers of this wonderment for bringing us together on Steemit to share such profound realities! Thank you @quinneaker for dreaming and holding higher standards for our entire human community!

What sort of country makes it illegal to feed homeless and hungry people?
How could a law like that even get passed?
I just can't figure that out.

The powers that be will see you as demons defying the law.
Those who receive your gifts will see you as angels sent by God in their time of need.

How you view yourselves is all that really matters. So take a look in the mirror, and smile, knowing that the face staring back is that of an angel.

Yes, it's appalling how many "freedoms" are taxed in this country. We are committed to solutions, and we remain undeterred by judgments! Thank you so much for your support @trevor.george!

Well if I was there i'd probably come along and help out.

But we have our own homeless to deal with here, sadly.

At least they should have warm weather for Christmas, unlike your people.
