Non-stop grilling at the Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant [DTube]
Hi Steemit Friends!
There's something grilling in my blog today! It's literally a grill time with me at the Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ restaurant at the Chijmes Cathedral. If you recall, I made a blog entitled "Exploring Chijmes", in that post I've shown some parts of the area where bars & grills are up on their game!
These restaurants are offering their authentic food & dine experience that you can have at its best. Previously, while doing my explore at Chijmes, I was salivating and wishing to dine on one of the restaurants. A few days back, me and my fiance decided to go to one of the Japanese BBQ restaurant, it's the Gyu-Kaku.
This is our first time dining at this restaurant and so we went for the platter menu. What we had is the Gyu-Kaku premium platter.
In this platter, the meat that was served are: Australia Wagyu Thick Tounge, Kagoshima Wagyu Chuck Karubi, Australia Wagyu Karubi, Kurobuta Belly, & including all the side dishes that comes with it.
Aside from the meat selections, we also ordered the Camembert Cheese Skewers with Honey and Baguette. This cheese skewers did serve as our appetizer before we start on the main dish.
Since, we never had this before, we asked on of the crew to give us a tip when it comes to the timing and cooking temperature for each type of meat. This is a limited platter and we only have few slices to perfect the grilling. The crew were friendly and they will even guide and check on your grilling once in a while. We were happy with the result, ans so I took a shot of every meat that we grilled, here they are:
When it comes to the restaurant venue, the interior really helps to improve our appetite. Aside from the authentic looking wooden kiosk and dining area, the good ventilation also helps us dine with comfort. The smoke from the grilling was well exhausted that it didn't even cling to our clothes, as in no traces of smell on us. Check out the pictures I took while we were waiting for the food to arrive our table.
It was a night of fun and endless "almost" grilling & munching experience for me & my fiance. It may look that we ordered a lot food but it was just nice for the both of us. Well, the technique is to have a break on each and every bite. I hope you enjoy my first Dtube post as it was fun to do.
It was a weekend that is well spent! I hope you had a great weekend as well.
Cheers!
Albert

That looks like an awesome restaurant. Its cool how the grill is at each table and it looked like the larger table had multiple grills. I bet you guys had a blast with that.
I just wished I have my RX1r with me on that night to take decent photos, lol. All are taken using my S7 edge, which is quite surprising that it's able to make a clean image (little noise) considering the dim lighting in this restautant.
Funny how that works but as the saying goes the best camera is the one you have with you.
Really the photos are great. It's not like I was thinking "that's not a full frame" while viewing the photos. I was paying attention to the subject in the photos. Didn't even think about which camera you used.
I was just out mountain bike riding today and stopped to take some photos with my phone. I was using a gorilla pod knock off and the wind was still just moving my phone to much for long exposures. If that hadn't been the case I would have stayed until it was dark.
I was really wanting my 7d. That is one area were it excels its heavy and the wind doesn't move it much :) Eventually I will go back to that spot with it and an actual tripod.
I know there are some great photographers out there that just use their phone but I have always thought my photos with a smartphone come off snap shot looking. I have been slowing myself down lately when using my phone and trying to repeat the steps that I would do if I had a normal camera in my hand.
There are times when I want to make a comparison between my smartphone and my rx1r, just for fun, lol. I might find time for that.
Isn't Monday where you are at? It's monday here in SG now, I'm still having thoughts about this last weekend photography. Hang over huh.
I was envious when you said you were out for mountain biking, Im envious of that. Lol I wish to do that here, sounds a lot of fun. Great opportunity to make a photo series as well. :-)
I hadn't been out biking lately because of weather. It was nice yesterday and I wanted to get out. I do plan on posting some of the photos from it.
A post comparing the cameras would be cool. Might find some interesting results. What do you use to edit photos on your phone? I have been using Snapseed for a few months now and love it. Before I had been using Lightroom mobile.
It is Monday morning here. UTC -5 so when you posted that last comment it was around midnight here.
