I came across another Steemian's post recently for an Argentinian-style birthday cake recipe
I present my version - no recipe, just my pictures and words :)
The main ingredients striking a pose.
Not surprisingly, the strawberries were out of season and tasted as such. To remedy this problem, I "marinated" the sliced berries in fresh orange juice and white balsamic vinegar for a few hours.
In recognition of Valentine's Day, I added some food coloring to the cake batter for a soft pink hue.
Q: Will the finished product maintain these peaks?
A: Nope
I used a paring knife to carefully cut out the top part of each cupcake, which I set aside momentarily.
I applied a small amount of dulce de leche, then added one marinated strawberry slice.
Lastly, I poured enough condensed milk to cover the strawberry slice and replaced the top I had previously removed.
With its "hat" back in place, I used fluffy marshmallow frosting to cover the top of the cupcake. I used more strawberry slices to decorate some of the frosted cupcakes.
All done!
On a side note, I omitted the freshly shaved coconut because the coconut I purchased was not of the freshest variety, as this picture clearly shows.
Ew!
Apparently, I do not know how to select a fresh coconut. This one was bad from the grocery store; although, it did make for an interesting photo opportunity.

Steem on Homie!
Thank you!! I didn't even think of getting a refund, but yes, it was definitely damaged goods. I was really confused at first when it opened, I wasn't expecting mold inside...
