Nice! The Colombian tamal (and we are from Tolima and have way better tamales than those boring Bogotanos) has chicken, pork, and beef, half an egg, a carrot slice or two, and rice mixed in with the corn masa.

That is awesome! I never heard anyone put eggs or carrots in tamales, and I was even gonna mention something along the lines of "unused ingredients" in this post. But it seems like they are not unused after all, just regional. Thanx for the additional info!
