Ulog #98: Curly Fries - Last weekend's special
So in my series of specials that I've been doing for a couple of weeks now on my food truck's menu, I did an easy one. Store bought curly fries. I've been making from scratch the weekly specials that I've been doing so far, so this is a first store bought one that I did.
I do try to source good quality products so not everything from a bag is something bad. If you source them correctly, you can get very good and high quality products.
This particular special was actually for an event we did on Friday for a private house catering. My brother is the one that sourced this out so this week's special was actually his doing.
This curly fries that I got really impressed me. I was impressed with the texture, the flavor of the seasoning and for the price, it's a pretty good deal.
Frying it was easy as it gets crisp really quickly. Has a similar cooking temprement as onion rings. The crust was pretty good as well. Had a little hint of spiciness from the coating that it had. All i needed to do is serve it up with some of our homemade spicy garlic aioli and it turned from ordinary to spectacular sides.
Maybe I should really write more on my spicy garlic aioli.... I even had a friend today asking if I sold bottled personal sizes. Haha
