If one knows how to cook it (sear is key!), buying a prime cut or a filet and cooking at home for celebration is awesome; even if it's more expensive than the normal cuts it's less expensive than paying for the mark up at the restaurant.

Regardless, quality cuts are expensive. Hopefully with the acquisition of Whole Foods by Amazon, there will be some price pressure on all of the other stores across the board (even box stores) to lower overall prices.
