Hello my lovely friends of Steemit!

Welcome back to another page of The Housewife Recipe Book!

Today for the 12th page of The Housewife Recipe Book I will share with you another very easy and simple recipe!

Msemen are delicious Moroccan flatbreads that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. You can eat them with honey, cheese, butter or any topping of your choice.

Let's see below the easy steps of this delicious flatbread!

Msemen - square pan-fried dough

To make this recipe, you will need :
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup fine semolina
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water (approx. 1/3 liter)

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Add the warm water and mix to form a dough. Add more water if needed, until you get a dough that is soft and easy to knead, but not sticky.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead by hand for 10 minutes until the dough is very smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into balls.
Have a bowl of oil and some more semolina too. These will be needed to fold the msemen.

Take a ball of dough ,dip it in the oil, and use oiled hands to flatten and spread the dough very thinly. Make it as thin as you can without breaking the dough.

Sprinkle the dough with a little semolina. This will help keep the folded layers separate when the msemen cooks.​
Then start folding like below until you get a square form!

As i love making it more delicious, i actually put this square into another flattened dough!

And folded again to get a bigger square!

Spread it again, but slightly this time!
And they are ready to be cooked!

Bring the msemen on a hot pan and cook the first side!

Once you have a nice golden brown coloration, turn it over and cook the other side!

And voila, your msemen are ready!

Enjoy them when they are still hot!
You can also cook in advance and reserve in the fridge, just heat when you want to eat them!
