The Housewife Recipe Book - Harcha - Easy Moroccan Semolina Bread - Page 11
Today for the 11th page of The Housewife Recipe Book I will share with you a very easy and simple bread recipe that I cook quite often!
Harcha is a Moroccan bread made with semolina and cooked in the pan!
It is really easy to make and very delicious, I am sure you will enjoy it too!
Harcha
To make this amazing bread, you will need :
Semolina 500gms
Vegetable oil 3tbsp
Salt 1tsp
Sugar 3tbsp
Yeast 1tbsp
Baking powder 7gms
Warm water 1.5cups
First mix the salt , oil and semolina together till you have like a sandy texture.
This is the texture you should get, same like sand.
Then add the yeast, baking powder and sugar!
Add the warm water and mix till you get a soft dough.
Let it sit for 15 minutes for the semolina to absorb all the water.
Take a round pan, sprinkle with little semolina and place the dough on it.
Press it well to get the round shape.
Transfer to a hot cooking pan and cook directly on both side till golden brown!
This is the result after cooking for about 5 minutes.
Cut and serve while still hot!
Enjoy the harcha with some melted butter and honey!
Cream cheese goes well with it too!
