Soup and a poem to warm your self with in honour of the solar eclipse ✹

Today is the solar eclipse. The moon will slide in front of the sun for a more close up tango between the feminine and the masculine. At least from our point of view...

And that's exactly it, not only are the sun and the moon in alignment, but we, the earth spectators are also in full alignment with the two main light bodies in our sky. Sun representing masculine energies, moon representing feminine energies, we are bathed in mostly the feminine energies during the eclipse, except for a ring of fire embracing the moon. Beautiful! To some this means a new portal is opening today for the sacred feminine to re-anounce herself in our lives, claiming her equal part in the tango. For it takes two to tango, right?

In honour of the sacred feminine and to show that She has a place in my life, warming me, I share with you this poem and at the end the recipe for a warming Borsch soup.

Warm your self

With fire, with sunlight,

With stars and moonlight

With hearty soups and hand knitted clothing

Warm your self

With a cat on your lap.

Warm your self

with laughter and jokes,

with the compassion that receives long awaited tears,

like an old friend

with heartfelt words,

with a caring look that penetrates your soul

with a spontaneous move that ignites your fire

with a hug from a loved one.

Something familiar,

that brings along the spark of life.

Now for the hearty soup: Borsch soup with paneer ( three to four people )

Ingredients:

  • water
  • bouillon powder
  • one big beetroot
  • one green bell pepper
  • four medium cloves of garlic
  • one big carrot
  • one medium potato
  • three leaves of a Chinese cabbage
  • one celery stalk with leaves
  • one big bayleaf
  • two sprigs of fresh coriander leaves
  • freshly crushed pepper
  • some extra salt
  • and... paneer ( indian cottage cheese)
  • or if you can't get that, some thick curd

I cook this delicious soup in the pressure cooker, it is usually done in around twenty minutes, when you use a normal soup pot for it, it will take you about an hour. But no worries, preparing time is only ten minutes and the rest is jus waiting.

instructions:

Pour about five mugs of water in a pot and put it on the fire

Wash, peel and cut the beetroot, potato, carrot, bell pepper, cabbage, celery and garlic and add them to the water.

Add bouillon powder to taste, I think I did about four heaping teaspoons.

Add the bayleaf and crushed pepper to taste.

Cover the pot and let it cook until the beetroot is nice and soft and the water a beautiful crimson colour.

In the meantime cut the paneer in cubes and fry them in some oil with salt and pepper until they have a bit of a golden crust forming.

Wash the coriander and chop the sprigs up finely.

Pour the soup in bowls and garnish with the coriander and paneer or add a scoop of thick curd instead.

Enjoy! I hope the soup will warm your soul and the beetroot may ground you in this cosmic event!

Have a lovely solar eclipse! 😊

Hi Clara

Yes! Me soup devotee. Definitely!

lol.. u even got me eating it.

I am a big fan of the pressure cookers!

Very cute post =)>

Thanks Quinneaker, Yes pressure cookers are wonderful, it took me living in India to get that. In the west we think they are quite scary hissing and all. But if you are dependent on gas bottles for your cooking it's realy worth while.

Yes as it is way more efficient!
I am ALL for efficiency!

Oh wow! Who would have thought! Thanks!

Beautiful poem and delicious sounding soup! I will be following.

Looks really delicious :) I've never tired soup with beet, I might just end up experimenting with your recipe.

Just a small correction if you wouldn't mind it. If you don't count the Earth, the Moon and the Sun by themselves are not in any special alignment. The alignment exists only from our perspective as spectators as the Moon happens to cast its shadow on our planet ;)

Yes, beetroot soup gives me the same fulfilment as soup with meat in it, it is very nutricious and realy worth a try.
Yes, I am aware of that the sun and the moon were only in alignment from our perspective. I say: The moon will slide in front of the sun for a more close up tango between the feminine and the masculine. At least from our point of view... Later on in the post I say it the wrong way again. I guess it's like saying the sun comes up.

I'll try it! No meat for me either ;)

About my "correction", I'm sure you knew what you're talking about, I just have this nitpikiness that is sometimes hard to keep under control :/
