DAIRY-FREE Guava sorbet: South African style!!

Craving for a delicious dairy-free desert this summer? Try out this simple recipe to cool down your taste buds! This easy-to-make guava sorbet recipe will leave your family and friends begging for more.

Not only is this simple sorbet mouth watering, it fits your budget! Using only 4 simple ingredients, you will wonder why you have not tried it out sooner. Feel free to treat your lactose intolerant friends to a sweet desert!

Ingredients:
• 2 large egg whites properly separated
• 2-3 tablespoons(1oz-1.5 ounces/30-45ml) lime or lemon juice
• 2 x 410 g cans Rhodes Guava Halves in Syrup(any other canned guava brand or fresh guavas – peeled)
• ¼ cup castor sugar(65ml/60grams)
Serves:6-8

Method:

  1. Remove the guavas from the can by draining all the syrup out of the can. Add the guavas into a blender with lime or lemon juice and castor sugar until it is silky smooth.

  2. Sieve the guava blend into a mixing bowl using a spoon to push through the mixture. In a separate bowl, beat two large egg whites until very stiff and white. Carefully fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites into the blended guava mixture. Place in the freezer

  3. Check on the mixture every 30 minutes to stir and break up any ice crystals. Repeat until the sorbet is too frozen to stir any longer. Serve and viola! You have easy delicious guava sorbet.

Storage suggestions: transfer into a storage container, keep covered and frozen
