Another Impromptu Dinner Party & Early Morning Walk

Dinner parties on a whim are a common occurrence in my home as I love to cook and host. After reconnecting with a very close friend from my-days-as-a-famous-musician's-wife, (she's divorced from her musician husband as well) I decided why not have her over now for dinner and wine!
I went to the garden and picked some rainbow chard and strawberries for our salad.
I sliced a red onion and whipped up a delicious sweet wine vinaigrette and a this salad came to life!
Butter, salt, pepper and garlic went in a pot, sautéed and then bathed in heavy cream, pepper and Parmigiano & Romano cheeses which was poured over broccolino and fettuccine.
The wine and infused water flowed freely, a delicious meal, great conversation and an even greater variety of desserts shared courtesy of my friend, made for a delightful evening filled with laughter, tears and memories. It was a very emotional night for both of us. As luck would have it, she lives now close to me so I think these dinner dates will become a regular thing, I missed my friend! I hadn't seen her in 7 years!
After last nights indulgence, this morning I decided on only one slice of quiche I baked this morning for my family...
Some muddled watermelon with lemon, alkaline water and mint to drink....
And an early walk behind my home in the trails. (Yes that's the ocean in the distance.)
After a shower I got ready to prepare for my lunch date with my mom this afternoon.

So here I go again. Had my blood pressure monitor hooked up this time. Picture 1-4, I was holding stable. Then Picture 5 with that Fettuccine having my machine start shaking. Then Picture 6 with that Quiche it was going into overload. Then the Eye of the Storm, Picture 7 with that innocent drink... And then Picture 9!!! My machine Blew Up!!! Oh My...

I'm having a dinner al fresco party for the eclipse, maybe you should too under the beautiful ancient fruit tree! Btw I have a feeling I must not expose my decks or crystals to the light of the eclipse. Do you sense this as well?
I am going to a friends (sister of the moon;) property that is on a mountain crest with a perfect view of it, and private... so stoked.
I am not exposing any of my crystals and fey minerals and rocks to it -- it is a rather sinister event and I do not want those little recording crystals to pull any of that in. So with you on that.
When I was married my hubby and I loved to entertain all the time, it was a once a week thing, I miss that so much. I entertain much less these days, but that can and will change.

Yes, entertaining is such an easy and lovely way to catch up and to share a wonderful moment with friends. I love conversations around the dinner table!

I do, it's just not as often these days as I'm not as easy to get too and do not have a lot of friends out my way.... I'm kind of a wild child in a conservative area. I love when I have guest for a few days and I can play miss B&B. :)

Salivating here... everything looks delicious! There's that quiche, looks better then mine although I did use Kale and a little goat cheese. Those treats ...sigh

Oooh kale, I only have used spinach but kale sound like a step up with the Goat cheese, yum!

I had to look up "lewd" & "lascivious" to verify I had the correct meaning. I'd have to disagree with you on that little bit of self-criticism, I'd say more like provocative (not the annoying kind).
And as much as you'd like to portray being the provocative blonde bombshell, I think there's a lot more going on behind those big doe eyes than most people realize.
