Tropical Turmeric Smoothie
How about a serious health kick to start your day? This tropical and fruity smoothie gets a spicy edge with the addition of turmeric and black pepper. The mango makes the texture silky smooth. I'm sure you'll love it!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup carrot, big chunks
- 1 cup mango chunks
- 1 cup papaya chunks
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1 banana, peeled
- 2 cups water
- pinch black pepper to increase curcumin’s bioavailability
- 1 tbsp extra-virgin coconut oil to increase curcumin’s bioavailability
- 1 tbsp fresh grated turmeric root or turmeric powder or to taste (1-inch = 1 tbsp fresh grated =1 tsp powder)
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth.
Use one or more frozen fruits to chill the smoothie.
Optional: top with your favorite superfoods like raw cacao nibs or goji berries.
