Tasty Lunch Ideas - Chickpea Falafel - You Simply Have To Try It!

This falafel recipes is a a great tasty lunch idea. It takes a little bit of time to prepare but when you will try it you will know it was worth the trouble. It is as tasty as it is healthy.

Ingredients:

1 cup chickpeas
1 medium potato
¼ cup all-purpose wheat flour
2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 clove garlic
¼ tsp ground cumin
Dash of tumeric
2 dashes cayenne pepper
½ cup vegetable oil
Pinch salt
Dash pepper

Yield: 8 falafels

Preparation:

Soak the chickpeas over night in water.

Drain the chickpeas and cook them in the boiling water for 40 minutes. Dice the garlic.

Peel the chickpeas and place them in the food processor. Blend for 1 minute until almost smooth. Transfer into a bowl and add flour, parsley, sesame seeds, diced garlic, cumin, tumeric, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Peel the potato and grate it into the mixture. Stir the mixture until ingredients are well incorporated.

Heat vegetable oil in the frying pan. Form 6 cm falafels and place them in the hot oil. Fry them on each side over medium heat for approximately 4 minutes until light brown.

Transfer the falafels on the paper towel and leave them for a minute. Serve while still warm.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 50 minutes
