The Roperite: Fearsome Critter

in #folklore8 years ago

Slightly smaller than a thin pony, the Roperite is another fearsome critter that resembles a horse, although much smaller than the Luferlang, and much less threatening.

In fact, the only animals truly afraid of this creature, are little rodents like jack rabbits and squirrels, which make up the diet of the Roperite. Equipped with a long, rope-like snout, the Ropertie uses his nose to catch his prey, as though he were using a lasso. Another strange feature of these creatures is their leathery skin. Roperties do not have any hair, but instead their tough hides protect them from thorns, brambles, and other sharp objects they may meet.

The Ropertie are said to be very quick creatures, which is attributed to their large, muscular legs, punctuated by flipper like hooves. When the Ropertie moves, some believe it appears to be flying.
