the white sea of fog

On the edge of the sea from fog. Beautiful, wild, Ukrainian Carpathians.

This is Svydovets (in Ukrainian Свидовець). It is a mountain range in the Ukrainian Carpathians, in Transcarpathia.
Now it is still pristine part of the range. But there is a devastating news that plan was made to build here a ski resort. That's totally wrong - I don't like the fact that beauty of nature going to be spoiled by tarmacing mounting trails. Most of the people like comfort, but should we pay such a high price for it by irreversibly destroying a wild life ? Some short-sighted individuals more concerned of filling their own pockets than compassion to everything that on those hills grows and lives...
We only can pray that all this will have minimum impact on unique flora and fauna.

Hopefully this pictures will not serve in the future as sad remainder of a former beauty of Carpathian's Svidovets.

Guys, what do you think of turning wild nature places into recreation centers?
I believe that in the past, Slovakian government had to turn down proposition from Winter Olympic committee to host the games in Tatras mounting. Why - the public protests were so strong - they had to.
