#Yarrow and #Lavender

#Summer is here, and these two #flowers are the stars of our backyard #garden this week.

In this post, enjoy some photos of my glorious plumes of Yarrow, and the #insects that love it too. Oh what the heck, I'll just show you everything blooming in the garden for Summer right now.

Those happy bees are loading up on pollen this week. Stick around, and I'll share a rockin' reward for a chance to use some simple #creativity to load up on some of my sweet SBD's this week in the first ever #NAME-A-TREE contest by @creativetruth.

Below, look closer. Tiny little #beetles.

Also, growing my own lavender from #seed. They are exploding with growth now that the sun is blazing with hot temperatures.

Not sure what this little #shrub is called, but the #bees love it.

These two below are flower seeds that I started indoors. They are finally settling into their roots and putting on some fresh #leaves. Not sure if it is morning glory, flour o'clocks, or a moonflower. Any of those three it could be.

#Carrots here are extending out a flower plume of buds in a very similar way to yarrow, with different end results. The individual flowers together make a shimmering shower of firecrackers and sparklers.

The #Sumac #Tree in the front yard has millions of these green-yellow miniature popcorn flowers.

If I lived in South Africa (I don't, but some of my friends on steemit do), it would probably be filled with monkeys. Instead, it provides a network of perches for scavenging birds and squirrels. The birds and the flowers decorate my car parked underneath every morning (use your imagination).

20180621_093407.jpg

A frightening thunderstorm, so loud I had to cover my head with my pillow when I woke to see the flashes. The roars were earth shattering. Our vampire #rose simply soaked up the welcomed rain with delight.

#Coreopsis or #Tickseed is a perfectly imperfect #flower I have grown to adore. I believe this variety is called lanceleaf, which is the common variety. Other varieties have painted crowns on the petals of browns, reds, whites, and even pink and blue.

20180620_085857.jpg

These #roses are not from my house, but I did find them on a walk through town the other day. Raspberry and orange cream sherbet comes to mind.

Climbing #clematis is beginning to pop.

This fuzzy #weed makes flowers smaller than a dime, yet I am sucker for anything #blue, so I let them grow.

And finally, above is my star of the show. The #azalea is the centerpiece of my backyard bonsai collection when it is in full #bloom.

SBD Prize Giveaway

Normally I don't run contests, or even follow people who run contests. There are so many spamming steemit trying to trade money for votes and resteem that I tend to lose interest and look for better quality posts I prefer to curate instead.

This week I am deviating from my normal habit a bit, and so I will run a limited time simple contest that will be very easy to participate in, as long as you have a bit of creativity.

Contest: #NAME-A-TREE

20180505_140541.jpg

This tree needs a new name!

So sad. It looks like a young #Maple tree, but it has no name. We wish it had a nickname, so we could refer to it again and again. I would have shared this tree weeks ago along with some other trees I started growing, but it was waiting for any steemian, possibly you, to call its name out loud into the steemiverse for all the others to hear.

Contest Reward: 1 SBD

Rules

So simple. A child could do it.

  • Create a comment below, within the next 7 days.
  • Include a creative name for this tree pictured above, as many names as you want.
  • Describe why you selected this name.

That's it!

The winner will be chosen by @creativetruth at the end of 7 days.

I will notify the winner with a personal reply to their winning comment.

Optional: You can upvote any comment entries you really like. Perhaps others may curate the best comments too and help some of you earn some extra additional rewards. Additionally, you can even make a full post on your feed, and let me know about it in the comments below. It doesn't even have to be related to this contest, because I'll upvote any deserving posts I find enjoyable.

I don't need anything in return. It is free. No tricks. No catch. That's what a good contest should be, right? Don't bother trying to bribe me with votes or candy-coated compliments. It won't work this time. No need to resteem or use any tags.

Bonus

Check in each day or so, for new posts by @creativetruth, and I will reveal another tree in need of a new name.

Yes, there are many new young trees in my collection.

Each time I post a new tree this month, it will be a new contest worth 1 SBD for the next winner.

Don't forget to follow me, @creativetruth to more easily find these contests in your feed.

Why?

For starters, I've been busy and haven't posted much in a while, and now I have a bunch of trees I want to share. I spent most of this week going back through every single one of my past bonsai posts. (I used https://steemit.accusta.tk/ to locate my posts more quickly. It's amazing, and much quicker than browsing your blog on steemit to find stats on your posts.)

There are so many posts I found, I might be close to holding the record here on steemit for the most bonsai posts. Each time I introduce one of my bonsai trees, I label, nickname, and provide details about its progress here on the blockchain. After a while I simply lost track of which trees had names, and which ones didn't, so now that I have finished tracking everything down, I'm ready to pick up from where I left off.

Now you, my friends, can help take some pride in the friendly collection of trees I have been acquiring. Make your dreams a part of mine.

In truth, all I want is to make some new charming friends here on steemit, and so I hope this contest series will help out in that regard. Without my community of friends here, I would be nothing worth noting, a forgotten memory. Help me bring my posts back to life with your spirited comments.

Photografi yang luar biasa indah sekali dan juga unik sekali

Terima kasih. Senang sekali Anda menikmatinya.

Wow. So much content in one post. Yarrow and lavender are so nice. You should be popular with the local butterflies and bees. As for the tree, I'm going with Lefty. Its off to one side of its pot and also kind of has more leaves on that side.

Congratulations @steven-patrick, you are the winner of this contest, which earns you a prize of 1 SBD.

I am very grateful for your participation!

The Maple tree pictured above will be nicknamed Lefty.

Awesome! Thanks @creativetruth what a pleasant surprise when I checked my account :)

Well done @creativetruth! You successfully guessed the match result.
